Event community guidelines

1. Purpose and scope

Boise Meet’s event calendar is for lighthearted, social opportunities that help adults meet, spend time together, and participate in the Boise and Treasure Valley community. These guidelines apply to public event suggestions, event partner applications, partner accounts, event descriptions, images, links, and every event submitted through Boise Meet.

Examples of a potential fit include social mixers, singles events, speed dating, classes, workshops, games, recreation, arts and culture, food experiences, and other welcoming community gatherings. An event may be intended for adults or a particular age group; “community-friendly” does not mean every event must be designed for children or families.

2. Events we do not accept

We may reject or remove any submission that is inconsistent with the calendar’s social purpose. In particular, Boise Meet does not accept:

• Partisan political events, candidate or campaign events, rallies, protests, political fundraising, lobbying, or issue-advocacy organizing.
• Events whose primary purpose is advertising, direct sales, lead generation, recruiting, collecting contact information, promoting an unrelated business, or enrolling people in a multilevel-marketing or similar opportunity. A business may host a genuine social experience, and an event may charge a clearly disclosed admission price, but the event itself must provide real community value.
• Adult entertainment or events centered on nudity, explicit sexual content or activity, sexual services, fetish content, or other overtly sexual themes. Dating and singles events are welcome when their presentation and planned activities remain appropriate for a broad adult community audience.
• Events that promote hatred, unlawful discrimination, harassment, intimidation, exploitation, violence, self-harm, dangerous conduct, fraud, or illegal activity.
• Events or materials that sexualize or endanger minors, exploit another person, violate privacy, or use content without the necessary permission.
• Misleading listings, bait-and-switch promotions, fabricated events, duplicate spam, or submissions that hide material prices, restrictions, sponsorships, or commercial purposes.

3. Organizer responsibilities

The organizer—not Boise Meet—is solely responsible for planning, operating, supervising, staffing, securing, insuring, and paying for the event. Submission or publication does not transfer any organizer duty to Boise Meet.

Organizers must comply with all applicable federal, Idaho, county, city, venue, and platform requirements. Depending on the event, that can include venue authorization, permits, licenses, insurance, fire and occupancy rules, traffic or street-use approval, food and alcohol requirements, age verification, accessibility obligations, security, sanitation, and emergency planning. Organizers should determine which requirements apply rather than relying on Boise Meet for legal or operational advice.

• Submit only an event you organize or are authorized to represent, and only content you have permission to share.
• Provide accurate dates, times, location, admission price, age limits, accessibility information, cancellation terms, organizer identity, and a working source link.
• Keep the linked event page current and promptly correct, cancel, or withdraw information that changes.
• Respect attendees’ consent, privacy, physical safety, boundaries, and lawful accommodation needs. Do not use attendance as permission for unwanted contact or marketing.
• Maintain a reasonable way for attendees to contact the actual organizer with event questions, accessibility requests, cancellations, complaints, or safety concerns.

4. Independent events and attendee safety

Unless a listing expressly says Boise Meet is the organizer, listed events are independent third-party events. Boise Meet does not organize, operate, supervise, inspect, insure, or control them. We do not conduct identity, background, criminal-record, venue, safety, licensing, insurance, or qualification checks on submitters, organizers, hosts, venues, attendees, or event claims.

Administrative review is limited and is intended to decide whether submitted information appears to fit this calendar. Publication is not verification, certification, sponsorship, affiliation, recommendation, or a promise that an event is lawful, accurate, accessible, available, appropriate, or safe.

Adults decide for themselves whether to contact an organizer, purchase a ticket, travel to a venue, attend, remain at, or leave an event. Confirm important details directly with the organizer, protect your personal and financial information, use ordinary precautions, arrange safe transportation, tell someone where you are going, and leave or contact emergency services if a situation feels unsafe. Participation is voluntary and subject to the organizer’s and venue’s separate terms.

5. Review, rejection, and removal

Submission does not guarantee publication. We may request clarification; edit a listing for length, clarity, or formatting; reject it; remove it; suspend partner access; or decline future submissions. We may act when an event conflicts with these guidelines, our Terms, the calendar’s purpose, safety considerations, legal requirements, or the practical needs of the service.

Review is necessarily limited and may not identify inaccurate information or misconduct. An event’s prior publication does not guarantee future publication, and failure to remove a listing does not mean Boise Meet knew of or approved a problem.
