Privacy policy
Effective September 13, 2026 · Last updated September 13, 2026
1. Who we are and what this covers
Boise Meet is operated by Makeable Brand LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy covers our website and installed web app, account setup, profiles, likes, conversations, events, and communications with us. It applies to visitors as well as members.
Boise Meet is a free community service for adults in the Boise and Treasure Valley area, including people moving here within three months. This policy describes the features we currently offer. Third-party websites and event organizers have their own privacy practices.
For questions or requests about personal information, contact hello@makeable.so. Our Terms & Conditions govern use of the service.
2. Information you provide
- Account and signup information: your email address, account identifier and status, creation date, and the date and document versions associated with your signup agreement. We use email verification codes rather than passwords. We store a protected hash of the code, its expiration, and verification attempts; our email provider processes the code to deliver it.
- Required profile information: your first name, whether you identify as a man or woman, date of birth, height, selected city or Boise neighborhood, three prompt answers, at least one photo, and your confirmation that you meet the local-area requirement. We also store unfinished profile drafts so you can continue setup.
- Optional profile information: whether you have or want children, marital status, drinking and smoking preferences, religion, job title, languages, and what kind of connection you want. These fields can reveal sensitive personal information. You can leave them blank and remove them later. Photos, prompts, and messages can also reveal sensitive information you choose to include.
- Interactions: likes and optional opening messages, the photo or prompt liked, passed profiles, matches, text messages and their timestamps, message-read positions, hidden conversations, blocks, reports and their reasons, and whether you tell us you met someone. Read positions support unread counts; they are not a promise that another person has read or understood a message.
- Settings and requests: notification preferences, push-subscription endpoints and encryption keys, and information you provide when contacting us, requesting help, or reporting content. Please do not send us passwords, sign-in codes, government IDs, or intimate images as part of a support request unless we specifically identify a necessary, secure process.
3. Technical information and device storage
Our app and infrastructure providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect the service, such as IP addresses, request times and paths, browser and device information, security signals, and delivery or error information. We use protected identifiers and request counters to limit abuse. Provider logs may contain additional request metadata under their retention settings.
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. A session normally expires after 30 days; logging out invalidates that session. Browser local storage remembers your light, dark, or system theme setting. The installed web app uses a service worker for installation and push notifications. Our service worker does not intentionally cache private profile, message, or API responses for offline use, although normal browser and image-delivery caches may retain downloaded files.
We do not currently include advertising pixels, advertising cookies, or a third-party behavioral analytics tool. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because those activities are not part of the service, there is no advertising-sale setting to enable. Browser Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals do not turn off cookies or security processing necessary to operate the service.
We ask you to choose a city or neighborhood from a list. The app does not request GPS access or continuously track your location. IP addresses may indicate an approximate location, and anything you write or show in a photo can reveal more than your selected city.
4. How we use information
- Create and authenticate accounts, save setup progress, display profiles, and help local members discover and communicate with one another.
- Process likes, matches, passes, messages, and member choices such as blocks, hiding, deactivation, and deletion.
- Display local event listings and deliver device notifications when you choose to enable them.
- Protect the service against bots, spam, unauthorized access, and other misuse; investigate reports; maintain service reliability; and respond to requests.
- Record signup agreement, administer our terms, and comply with applicable legal obligations and lawful requests. We do not use member messages or photos to train an AI model as part of the current service.
5. What other people can see
Published profiles are available to other eligible signed-in members. They display your first name, age calculated from your birthday, height, selected location, photos, prompt answers, and any optional details you publish. Your email address and exact birthday are not profile fields shown to other members. Required gender information is stored even if it is not displayed in the current profile layout.
The recipient of your like can see the like and any opening message. If a match is created, opening messages can become part of the conversation. Text conversations are available to their participants. They are not end-to-end encrypted: authorized operators and infrastructure providers can technically process stored information for the purposes described in this policy. We do not represent messages as inaccessible to us.
Blocking restricts access and interaction within the app. It cannot erase screenshots, downloaded photos, copied messages, or information someone has already seen. Do not publish an address, workplace location, children’s information, or other details you do not want other members to know.
Profiles marked Test are fictional accounts used to exercise the service. They are not genuine dating participants. Interactions with those accounts may be reviewed by the operator while testing. The label does not mean that unmarked profiles have been identity-verified.
6. Service providers and other disclosures
We use service providers to operate the app. They receive the information needed for their functions and may use subprocessors. Our current core providers and purposes are:
- Vercel: website and API hosting, delivery, image optimization and caching, and operational request information.
- Neon: PostgreSQL storage for accounts, drafts, profile details, messages, interactions, settings, and related records.
- Backblaze B2: private storage of uploaded photos, temporary uploads, and processed images. Photos are cropped and reprocessed before publication; the image processing removes embedded metadata from published copies. Temporary copies are queued for cleanup.
- Brevo: delivery of sign-in codes, including the recipient email, message contents, and delivery information. The app sends no match, message, or event notifications by email and does not add members to a marketing mailing list.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: bot protection using browser, device, network, and interaction signals. The challenge can run without a visible prompt. See the Turnstile Privacy Addendum.
- Your browser or operating-system push provider, such as Apple, Google, Mozilla, or Microsoft: delivery of notifications to your device using a subscription endpoint. Our push payloads contain generic notices and navigation information, not message text or profile details.
- Other disclosures: information may be provided when reasonably necessary to comply with law or valid legal process, protect people and the service, investigate fraud or abuse, or establish or defend legal claims. If the service is reorganized, acquired, or transferred, relevant information may be transferred with appropriate confidentiality protections and notice where required. This policy does not authorize a new owner to disregard existing privacy commitments.
7. Your notification choices
Match, message, and event notifications are off by default. Turning one on asks for browser or device permission and registers a push subscription. On iPhone or iPad, installation on the Home Screen may be required. Preferences apply to your account’s registered devices. You can turn them off in your profile or revoke permission in device or browser settings. Previously queued or delivered notifications may remain visible.
Email is used by the app for signup and login codes, not social or event notifications. If you contact us directly, we may reply to your request. We may also deliver notices by a method required by law; this is not permission to send marketing emails.
8. Retention, deactivation, and deletion
Account data, drafts, profile information, and interaction history generally remain while your account exists. Hiding a conversation, unmatching, logging out, uninstalling the app, or deactivating your account does not delete your stored information. Deactivation hides your profile from discovery and prevents normal interaction until you reactivate it.
Delete account in your profile removes your account and related records from the active application database, including profile data, matches, associated conversations, reports linked to that account, and push subscriptions. Photo objects are queued for removal from storage. Storage failures are retried, so physical deletion is not instantaneous. Contact us if you cannot access your account. Deletion is irreversible in the app.
Verification codes expire after ten minutes; expired code records, sessions, and rate-limit counters are periodically cleaned up. Unfinished temporary photo uploads and unused photo records are cleaned up on scheduled jobs. Successfully processed push-job records are normally removed after 30 days; unsuccessful jobs or storage-deletion records may remain until resolved. An unfinished account or draft is not automatically deleted simply because you stop visiting.
Copies can remain temporarily in infrastructure logs, email-delivery records, caches, and backups according to provider settings and backup rotation. Limited information may also need to be preserved separately to comply with legal obligations, investigate a specific safety issue, or handle a dispute. We restrict such retained information to those purposes rather than using it to keep a deleted profile active. We cannot remove copies independently saved by another person or erase emails already delivered to an inbox.
9. Access, correction, and privacy requests
You can edit profile details and photos, remove optional answers, adjust notifications, deactivate, or delete your account in the app. For access to your information, a copy, a correction you cannot make yourself, deletion assistance, or another privacy request, email hello@makeable.so. Include the email associated with your account and describe your request; do not include a sign-in code.
We may ask you to verify control of the account or provide other information reasonably needed to prevent unauthorized disclosure. If someone acts on your behalf, we may need evidence of their authority. We may limit a request where necessary to protect another person’s privacy or as permitted or required by law, and will explain our response where required. We respond within any applicable legal deadline. If you disagree with a response, reply and ask for reconsideration.
Privacy rights depend on the laws that apply to you and to this service. These may include access, correction, deletion, portability, or restrictions on certain processing. Nothing here limits a right you have under applicable law or your ability to contact a regulator, including the Idaho Attorney General or the Federal Trade Commission. We do not penalize you for making a lawful privacy request, although we cannot operate an account without information necessary to provide it.
10. Security and processing locations
We use measures such as protected sign-in tokens, account access checks, private photo storage, encrypted network connections in production, and rate limits to protect information. No internet service can guarantee perfect security. Protect your email account, keep sign-in codes private, and log out on shared devices. We will provide legally required notices if a qualifying security incident occurs.
The service is intended for the Boise area in the United States. Our providers may process or store information in the United States and other countries where they or their subprocessors operate. Laws and protections can differ by location. Accessing the service from elsewhere does not waive rights or eliminate any safeguards required by applicable law.
11. Adults only
Boise Meet is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly allow minors to maintain accounts. If you believe a child has provided information or appears in an account that should be removed, contact hello@makeable.so with enough information to identify the account. We will investigate and remove information as appropriate, including as required by children’s privacy laws. Do not create an account for a child.
12. Outside links and events
Links to Boise Today, event organizers, photographer credits, and other websites take you to independently operated services. They may receive your IP address and browser information when you open them and may collect information under their own policies. Being shown in an in-app browser does not make an external site part of Boise Meet. We do not send your profile or conversations to an event organizer simply because you view a listing.
13. Changes and contact
We will update the date on this page when this policy changes. For material changes, we will provide an appropriate notice in the app or another legally required way, and obtain any consent required before using information in a materially different manner. A future feature does not automatically authorize an undisclosed use of existing information.
